In this Abstract Realism painting, I wanted to express the sense of the sublime of True Love, the eloquence, elegance, and sobriety of reason.
The blue tree is the image of the millennial olive tree, imbued with protective wisdom, illuminated by the Light of knowledge and Life.
Ascending, the yellow circle ringed with red in sfumato symbolizes the sacred and majesty of Love, as well as its infinite renewal.
The symbolism of each color depicts my inner poetry in a harmonious mechanism of vibrant chromatic sonorities, in sfumato and chiaro-oscuro, reflecting my thoughts, my emotions, and my feelings nestled deep within my unconscious.
Yellow symbolizes the sacred nature of Love and my constant desire for transcendence; red, passion; green, hope; blue, knowledge and oneirism; while gray expresses renewal, the generating principle of a new state of being, new ideas, rational reflection, and thus transcendence.
Pure and vibrant colors translate the contemplative moment, ecstasy, and my exultation for Life!
The physical presence of Sentiment Métaconscientiste, L'Amour Fusionnel et Éternel rests upon centuries of artistic craftsmanship and material excellence.
Sennelier Pastels: A Parisian Legacy of Pure Pigment
Founded in 1887 on the Quai Voltaire in Paris—just steps from the École des Beaux-Arts and the Louvre—Maison Sennelier established itself as the master colorist to the impressionist and modern avant-garde. Gustave Sennelier formulated his famous extra-soft pastels at the explicit request of Edgar Degas, who sought a medium with unprecedented color saturation and velvety tactile depth. Sennelier colors subsequently fueled the masterpieces of Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, and Pablo Picasso. In this work, Casol utilizes these pure, unadulterated pigments to capture light in its rawest, most vibrant form.
Pigment Tokyo: Fine Art Materials
Located in Tokyo, Japan, Pigment Tokyo is a unique laboratory and institution bridging rare traditional Japanese materials with cutting-edge contemporary artistic innovation, providing masters and creators with exquisite, high-grade pigments.
Arches Paper: Over Five Centuries of Noble Papermaking
Created in 1492 in the Vosges region of eastern France, the Arches mill has embodied papermaking perfection for more than 500 years. Crafted on cylinder moulds using 100% natural cotton fibers and traditional gelatin sizing, Arches paper offers an incomparable texture, structural durability, and archival permanence. Historically selected for major historical projects—from Napoleon’s Description de l'Égypte to the original works of Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Joan Miró, and Salvador Dalí—Arches paper provides the ultimate archival foundation for Casol’s soft pastels, ensuring the chromatic power of the piece endures through generations.
"Dans ce tableau en Réalisme Abstrait, j'ai voulu exprimer le sens du sublime de l'Amour Vrai, l'éloquence, l'élégance et la sobriété de la raison. L'arbre en bleu est l'image de l'olivier millénaire... Les couleurs pures et vibrantes traduisent l'instant contemplatif, l'extase, et mon exultation pour la Vie!" — Maryse Casol
