Why choose, support and exhibit the Maryse Casol art collection?

What makes this artist special? Maryse Casol, the artist, stands out due to a combination of her unique background, artistic style, and the meaningful journey reflected in her work. Born in Libourne, France, in 1957, she grew up in the wine region of Montguyon, which instilled in her a deep connection to nature and culture—elements that vividly emerge in her vibrant, expressive paintings. Her education in Literature and Philosophy from the University of Bordeaux in the 1970s, followed by her studies at l'Académie des Arts et Beaux-Arts de Varennes in Canada from 1998-2003 with professor Sam Aberg, equipped her with a rich intellectual foundation that infuses her art with depth and symbolism.

What makes her special is her ability to blend personal experience with universal themes. After moving to Montreal in 1977 and building a career in travel spanning over four decades, she channeled her global adventures into her artwork. Her paintings, created with Sennelier oils from Paris on custom cotton canvases, burst with color and energy, evoking a sense of "summer all year round" and a "joie de vivre" that liberates viewers. This post-Fauvist style, marked by bold hues and emotional resonance, draws inspiration from her travels and philosophical reflections, setting her apart as an artist who captures both the external world and inner vitality.
